What Happens in Chapter 12
Musashi challenges Yoshioka Seijuro’s disciples in an unauthorized duel at Rendaiji. The fight is brief, brutal, and completely one-sided. Musashi wins without visible effort — but Inoue frames the victory with an unsettling undertone: Musashi is overwhelmingly powerful, but the power feels hollow, disconnected from any meaning. He wins and feels nothing. This is the beginning of his real problem.
